The performance of a single tip ionic liquid ferrofluid electrospray source was estimated. The electrospray source was sprayed until the fluid reservoir was depleted (typically 15 to 18 hours) with a magnetic field strength ranging from 320 to 500 G. While emitting, the angular divergence of the spray was measured, which yielded an average angular power efficiency of 94%. The mass-flow rate was also approximate via timelapse imagery taken of the fluid meniscus allowing propulsion parameters to be derived. It was found the mass flow rate of the source averaged 25 ng/s, with a specific impulse of 1385 s and a thrust per emitter of 0.380 µN.
