Abstract:Comparing the phase diagrams of three binary soap systems (soap:K-laurate = KClz) KCIZ/glycerol, KClz/ethylene glycol and KClz/butylene glycol we found alterations in the types of phase diagrams that depend on the protic solvents. A different polymorphism in the binary systems were observed which was dependent on the solvent. In the sys-crystalline phase, G = gel phase, H = hexagonal phase, L = lamellar phase, S = isotropic solution), in the binary system KClz/E: C cf G c* L c* S , in the binary system KCI2/B:… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
