Influence of Stress on Electronic and Optical Properties of Rocksalt and Wurtzite MgO–ZnO Nanocomposites with Varying Concentrations of Magnesium and Zinc
Abstract:The structural, electronic and optical properties of stressed MgO–ZnO nanocomposite alloys with concentrations of Zn and Mg varying from 0.125 to 0.875 were studied using ab initio simulations. Two crystal structures are considered for the initial MgO–ZnO alloys: the rocksalt Mg\({_\text{1-x}}\)Zn\({_\text{x}}\)O and wurtzite Zn\({_\text{1-x}}\)Mg\({_\text{x}}\)O phases. For rocksalt Mg\({_\text{1-x}}\)Zn\({_\text{x}}\)O, the optimized structures are stable at pressures below 10 GPa. The larger the Mg concentr… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
