Influence of supply chain resilience, information technology capabilities and agility on cost and delivery performance in construction supply chains: an Indian perspective

Abstract: PurposeThe impact of COVID-19 pandemic has been severely felt by India's construction industry, which contributes heavily to economic growth and employment. An analysis of the impact of supply chain agility, supply chain resilience and information technology capability on the construction supply chain cost and delivery performance is presented in this study in an Indian scenario post-COVID-19.Design/methodology/approachAn analysis of moment structures-confirmatory factor analysis-based structural equation mode… Show more

“…In terms of SCR, our study indicates a more robust development compared to GSCM, which echoes the findings of [79] that underline the importance of resilience and agility in supply chains post-COVID-19. It appears that firms, irrespective of location, are giving precedence to resilience, potentially due to recent global disruptions.…”

“…[103] Additionally, the investigated literature referred to agility as the ability to quickly adapt the organizational structure and operations policy as a consequence of turbulent change [100] and the collaboration of stakeholders to respond quickly to changing environments and accredit with new capabilities. [104] Key features associated to supply chain agility were speed and supply chain visibility, [102,103,105] and adaptive capacity. [100] Because the critical role of collaboration between the companies and with other entities participating in the value creation process is recognized, under COVID-19, emergency collaboration and communication have been widely promoted.…”

Cherian et al (2023) analyze the effects of supply chain agility, resilience and IT capability on the cost and delivery performance in Indian construction projects during COVID-19 using the SEM approach. Ghasemi et al (2023) develop an evolutionary gamebased bi-level Lagrangian relaxation mathematical model with the COVID-19 interdictor as the first player which acts toward maximizing the system costs damaging the system and the fortifier "government" as the second player acting towards minimizing the location cost.…”
