Influence of the Distance between Target and Substrate on the Properties of TGZO Films Prepared by DC Magnetron Sputtering

Abstract: Ti-Ga co-doped ZnO thin films (TGZO) have been successfully prepared on glass substrates by DC magnetron sputtering at room temperature. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show that all the deposited films are polycrystalline with a hexagonal structure and have a preferred orientation along the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate. The distance between target and substrate was varied from 41 to 75 mm. The crystallinity increases obviously and the electrical resistivity decreases when the distance between ta… Show more

“…However, when D ts decreased, the adverse effect caused by the large D ts value lessened, and the deposition rate of the films improved. It is noted that when D ts decreased from 4 to 3.5 cm, the deposition rate of the films did not improve any further, due to the excessive kinetic energy of the CdTe molecules [30]. The CdTe film thicknesses were 2024, 3843, 1798, and 1167 nm, respectively, as D ts increased from 3.5 to 5 cm.…”
