Abstract:Electrical instability in semi‐insulating (SI) GaAs plates of the semiconductor gas‐discharge structure (SGDS) is studied experimentally in air and neon as a function of pressure, interelectrode distance, and cathode area diameter. While being driven with a stationary voltage, it generates current and discharge light‐emission instabilities with different amplitudes of the oscillation in Ne up to atmospheric pressure. The presence of the deep electronic levels of defects, give rise to the N‐shaped negative diff… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
