“…In addition, about 13.8% of TPO-Ab positive patients had increased TSH level which was only observed in 2.4% of TPO-Ab negative women. After adjusting the age and TSH, ATA positivity is still an independent risk factor of natural abortion 1,16. In our study, there were no significant differences in the age, BMI, duration of infertility, bFSH and bLH, which exclude the influence of age, body weight and endocrine factors on the results.…”

“…Recently, Sieiro et al. evaluated the influence of thyroid autoimmunity and maternal age on the risk of abortions in a population of 534 pregnant women, demonstrating that this risk was significantly higher among women with ages over 35 years, positivity for TPOAb and presence of high levels of TSH 17 …”

“…Both the proportion of women with miscarriage as a single reproductive event and also the proportion with miscarriage with or without concomitant delivery during the three‐year study period were estimated. The association of age to miscarriage were estimated in two different study samples: (1) women with a pregnancy intended to term; either miscarriage or delivery as single events or both these events, and (2) women with a pregnancy intended to term or with induced abortion; either miscarriage, delivery, induced abortion as single events, or combinations of these events (all women with reproductive events).…”

“…Knowledge of the age‐related risk of spontaneous abortion is important in reproductive planning. The true biological age‐related risk of miscarriage may differ from the observed risk in studies, since women with induced abortion are not included in most studies (1–7). It is also possible that women with low fecundity are overrepresented in prospective studies of first‐trimester pregnancy loss and difference in fecundity may influence the risk of miscarriage (8, 9).…”
