“…Adicionalmente, el proceso de secado no resulta homogéneo en las tablas que contienen los dos tipos de corte (corte mixto), por lo que la parte de la tabla con corte tangencial secará más rápido que la parte de la tabla con corte radial. Adicionalmente, en Sri Lanka se realizó un estudio donde se determinó el patron de corte a emplear en función de la distribución y superposicion de los anillos de crecimiento presentes en la troza, dado que la ubicación de los mismos en la seccion transversal de la tabla es uno de los aspectos físicos más importantes de la madera de construcción (Mendis et al 2019). De acuerdo con esta investigación, los tipos de corte encontrados en la sección transversal de la madera aserrada presentaron una distribución general de corte tangencial de 51,99%, corte radial de 38,40% y corte mixto de 9,61%, indicando que aproximadamente el 90,00% de la madera aserrada presentará un periodo de secado similar, mientras que el resto de las piezas, presentarán periodos de secado heterogéneos.…”

“…On the aspect of wood utilization, presence of small pores in L. species, Sclerocarya burrea, Nothospondis staudtia and Trichoscypha acuminata indicates that the wood species are expected to possess fine texture bestowed upon such wood species on the basis of their small pores. Hence, Kukachika (1969) and Mendis et al (2019) referred to texture as the diameter of the pores which influenced the wood texture some of wood species like Albizia lebbek that was found to posses coarse surface as a result of its big pores (Kukachika (1969). Therefore difference in texture among wood species can be recorded as a result of the distribution of pore sizes.…”
