Influence on Coupling Vibration of Rotor System with Grouped Blades due to Mistuned Lacing Wire

Abstract: The influence on coupling vibrations among shaft-torsion and blade-bending coupling vibrations of a rotor system with grouped blades was investigated analytically. The natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the system were solved with five- and six-blade cases used as examples. First, numerical results showed how the natural frequencies varied with the wire stiffness and the lacing wire mistuned. The diagrams of the coupling mode shapes were drawn. From the results, it was found that lacing wire did not af… Show more

“…Besides, the physical mechanism of the coupling RSDB system can be mathematically formulated by the analytical model, while the numerical model cannot offer physical mechanism interpretation directly based on the mathematical expressions. As a result, the analytical model is extensively adopted in the most literatures [9,20,[22][23][24][25][26], while only few are based on the numerical model [21].…”

“…Based on the continuum beam theory, some scholars explored the coupling vibration modeling of RSDB system [20,22], free vibration of RSDB system [17,23], abnormal vibration of blade-casing rubbing [9,25], vibration localization of mistuned RSDB system [24,26], etc. For example, Huang [22] established a coupling dynamic model of shaft torsional vibration and blade bending vibration based on Eluer beam theory.…”

“…They are proposed to improve the stress intensity factor (SIF) method in the computations. The author's previous researches [20][21][22] only used assume mode method to analyze the influence on coupling vibrations among shaft-torsion and blade-bending coupling vibrations of a rigid single/multi disk(s) rotor system with grouped blades. This paper will explore the coupling behavior among shaft-torsion, disk-bending, blade-bending and the blades packeted by lacing wire.…”

“…This paper aims to provide a qualitative and quantitative overview of a multi flexible disc rotor system. Based on the authors previous researches [4][5][6] and [20][21][22] which only used AMM, the authors additionally used FEM to compare and add some interesting results.…”
