Influences of the Medium on Preparation of Copper Nanofluids by Wire Explosion Process

Abstract: This paper presents a novel single-step method for preparation copper nanofluids by electrical explosion of wire in liquid. Three types of fluids were used as a medium of the wire explosion process: deionised water, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) solution 0.001 M and ethylene glycol. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and UV-vis spectroscopy were used to investigate the properties of the nanofluids. Pure copper phase … Show more

“…In this study, the Ni-CNT colloid and Ni-CNT composite powder were prepared by the EEW in different conditions, including ethanol, acetone, deionized water, ethylene glycol, and methanol. According to the literature, the ambient environment is an important parameter that affects not only the size, shape and the distribution of the particle, but also the structure of the powder [9,10,14]. Therefore, the influences of the ambient medium on the properties of the as-synthesized Ni-CNT composite powders were investigated in this work.…”
