“…End-users encounter technical and business process-related knowledge challenges during the use of a new enterprise system (Palvia et al, 2021). They are generally exposed to a centralized, crossdepartmental operating paradigm different from what they previously encountered in their work lives (Aremu et al, 2020;Chadhar & Daneshgar, 2018;Ranjan et al, 2016).…”

“…Palvia et al (2021) emphasize that having only US studies and a few regional studies available in the literature limits our understanding of the global range of technology issues. This approach brings a real risk that stakeholders in other countries may erroneously adopt the American or European findings and their recommendations, resulting in actions that may be suboptimal or detrimental to several constituencies (Palvia et al, 2021). Having more studies from outside the typical environment can provide academics with a much‐needed global perspective in IS research.…”

The predominant availability of studies in the literature concerning contexts like the United States of America or Western Europe may limit the understanding of the global outlook of e-health challenges, thus representing a potential risk for policymakers in other countries to adopt European or American recommendations and obtain results and actions that are suboptimal or not adequate to their context (Palvia et al ., 2021). Therefore, to study the potential success of e-health initiatives, researchers need to employ a contextually sensitive approach (Andargoli, 2021) so that policymakers can take advantage of lessons learned from past e-health projects if they seek to improve outcomes constructively and efficiently.…”
