“…It also could inhibit the in vitro mycelial growth and spore germination of A. alternata , reduced black spot rot in jujube fruit caused by the pathogen (Li, Wang et al., 2018; Li, Yuan, et al., 2018). p ‐Coumaric acid ethyl ester has important anti‐inflammatory and antioxidation activities without causing gastric injury (Melo Lima Filho et al., 2019). So, p ‐coumaric acid ethyl ester is a bioactive compound with great potential to develop medicines.…”

“…RBPE treatment showed a protective effect against ethanol-induced hepatic oxidative stress. In the previous studies, the phenolic-rich extract from lychee pulp has exerted a hepatoprotective effect in ethanol-induced or restraint stress-induced liver damage via suppression of oxidative stress in mice. , It is generally accepted that phenolics exert potent antioxidant capacities. ,,, The major phenolic compounds in the RBPE, p -coumaric, caffeic, ferulic, and sinapic acids and rutin, have been demonstrated to exert antioxidant activities. , The other components in the RBPE, such as hesperidin, ethyl p -coumarate, vitexin, quercitrin, protocatechuic aldehyde, and acacetin, have shown antioxidant activities in vitro or in vivo . Few reports have shown the antioxidant activity of ethyl caffeate, although the antioxidant activity of its parent nucleus caffeic acid has been demonstrated . Thus, the RBPE inhibited oxidative stress in alcohol-fed mice.…”

“…p ‐Coumaric acid ethyl ester ( p ‐CAEE) is a common esterified derivation from p ‐coumaric acid that extensively exists in plant tissues such as Tabebuia aurea (Manso) S. Moore (Filho et al, 2019) and camellia pollen (Li et al, 2021). Experiments in mice showed that the animals did not present any toxicity signal after administration of 2000 mg/kg p ‐CAEE (Filho et al, 2019).…”

Experiments in mice showed that the animals did not present any toxicity signal after administration of 2000 mg/kg p ‐CAEE (Filho et al, 2019). In this context, the p ‐CAEE was taken as the example to characterize the aldose reductase inhibition activity of esterified p ‐coumaric acid derivatives, via kinetics, conformation, and molecular docking analyses.…”
