“…For instance, the abuse behaviour inventory scale, was assessed amongst women and men attending a chemical dependency treatment centre, in the USA, and focused on internal validity (Cronbach alphas), factor analysis and criterion and construct validity [15]. Several other VAW measures have had similar analyses conducted, including the Teen Screen for Dating Violence measure [16], and the Conflict Tactics 2 Scale [17,18], the Sexual Experiences Survey [19], all in the USA, and in Australia the Composite Abuse Scale [20].…”

“…The TSDV is easy to use, practical for clinical and nonclinical settings, and may be implemented across genders and sexual orientations. Emelianchik-Key et al (2018) reported that the initial EFA indicated that the Perception scale of the TSDV yielded a five-factor model; the Experience, Perpetration, and Exposure scales resulted in a four-factor model; and the Support scale produced a three-factor model of scale dimensionality (Emelianchik-Key et al, 2018). The internal consistency of the scale was acceptable, and Cronbach's alpha for the 90-item TSDV was .82.…”

“…With the potential consequences of TDV being detrimental, and the conceptualization, understanding, and treatment of TDV being challenging, it is imperative for clinicians, counselors-in-training (CIT), and researchers to have appropriate assessment tools that allow for accurate assessment of TDV, both from survivor and perpetrator perspectives. The TSDV emerged in response to the need for a more comprehensive assessment tool to screen for three violence facets (physical, emotional, and sexual violence) of TDV (Emelianchik-Key, Hays, & Hill, 2018). The TSDV contains five scales with a total of 89 items, which examine TDV knowledge, experience, perpetration, exposure, and support systems among male and female adolescents.…”

“…Seventy college students participated in this study. We gathered demographic information about participants using Part A of the Teen Screen for Dating Violence ([TSDV] Emelianchik- Key et al, 2018). Of those participating, 69 self-identified as cisgender women, and one participant identified as a trans woman.…”
