Initial Fracture of a Viscoelastic Isotropic Plate with Two Collinear Cracks of Equal Length

Abstract: The stress-strain state of an unbounded linear viscoelastic isotropic body weakened by collinear cracks of equal length and subjected to a time-independent load normal to the cracks is studied. The expression for the crack opening displacement in the nonlinear range that is derived based on the Leonov-Panasyuk-Dugdale model is used to deduce the equations of subcritical crack growth.
