Abstract:In this work, we investigate the initial growth of the pentacene monolayer on the reconstructed Si(001)-2 × 1 surface with a detailed lattice gas model. We employ a combination of electron density functional theory (DFT) and tensor renormalization group (TRG) methods to reveal the equilibrium structures of the monolayer and driving forces of its self-assembly. The planar adsorption complexes are found to be predominant in the pentacene monolayer on the reconstructed Si(001)-2 × 1 in a wide range of pressure an… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
