“…For many years, studies have shown that the relationship between age and relative risk of wound did not change [13]. In this survey, majority of the wounds belonged to the age groups (young-aged groups), followed by middle-age groups, these are the groups of people that are face with higher relative risk of open-wound injuries as well as a higher relative risk for both traumatic and non-traumatic musculoskeletal wounds similar to several other studies [1,14].…”

“…A systematic review of injury surveillance systems in China reported 12 studies all of whom showed male preponderance ranging fom 1.9:1 to 3.1:1 (Fitzharris et al 2011). Majority of the injuries belonged to the age group 25–44 followed by 45–64 similar to several other studies (Fitzharris et al 2011; Deng et al 2010). This preponderance for adult males could be attributed to the fact that males in this age group tend to be more involved in outdoor occupations with wide ranging travel needs and other high risk activities (Holder et al 2001).…”

“…As in many countries, work-related traumatic injuries are an important and preventable public health and economic concern in the People's Republic of China (PRC), and fatigue due to long work hours and shifts schedules within continuous operations has been suggested as a potential cause (1)(2)(3)(4). In a recent study of 3479 frontline workers in 60 factories over a two-year period (2008)(2009) in Shenzhen, China (4), 8.3% of all workers reported having a traumatic injury in the previous 12 months, and the strongest risk factors were working >55 hours per week [odds ratio (OR) 1.64, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 1.21-2.22] and high mental work stress.…”
