INKtelligent printing® for sensorial applications

Abstract: Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to highlight INKtelligent printed sensor structures using maskless depositition technologies. Design/methodology/approach -This paper begins with a general introduction to INKtelligent printing Ò . Starting with layout and ink development, the fabrication of printed sensors is described in detail. Findings -Printed strain gauges, thermopiles and gas sensitive films are successfully fabricated with maskless deposition technologies, offering advantages for continuous non-des… Show more

“…This has been more thoroughly discussed in the Ag system by Seifert et al at 200°C and above for >30-minute intervals [31]. Numerous publications [31,55,[69][70][71] have shown that increased annealing temperature or time leads to increased densification of the metal film, which is consistent with well-known ripening phenomena in crystal grain growth.…”

“…A formulation of a suitable ink is a critical phase, as the performance or quality of the printing process strongly depends on the ink. A low tendency for sedimentation and properly adjusted behaviour of the liquid carrier matrix are essential for a reliable printing process [9].…”
