Innerstädtische Schulen als Kontaktzonen und Orte transkultureller BegegnungenGlobalization, Europeanization and migration are changing the character of big cities and their schools. Schools become contact zones for children and young people with different cultural backgrounds. In the subsequent cultural encounters, learning to cope with cultural diversity will be a central task of education in schools. In a school culture shaped by work, talk, games, and festivities, rituals play a central role in successful learning and forming companionships. In this process, mimetic and performative styles of learning gain particular importance for the development of transcultural education.
