This chapter explores the author's ideas on entrepreneurship as they apply to the scientific field of youth entrepreneurship in EU candidate countries. The author critiques the inactivity of universities and the young generation, highlighting how unemployment and entrepreneurship are intertwined in the overall discourse on this topic. The economic crisis exacerbated by COVID-19 and other factors has intensified the issue of youth unemployment. Comparative research of the youth development index and ease of doing business indicates that entrepreneurial interest among the young in EU candidate countries remains insufficient and largely underutilized, particularly if compared to Israel. While traditional forms of employment remain significant, fostering innovative entrepreneurship is essential for ease of doing business, empowering youth to engage in the formal economy, and contributing to economic development. The chapter emphasizes the importance of developing entrepreneurship through university programs that offer development and financing opportunities.
