A sound understanding of “Innovation in crisis management” could assist in tackling the crisis through Innovation. It will be easier for a business executive if he or she possesses such sound understanding as part of their study at the bachelor level. This study provides a survey result of the current Bangladesh students focusing on their understanding of “Innovation in Crisis Management” through an online survey, while this study aims to measure their understanding through several quiz questionnaires. This quiz-like questionnaire has two parts; the first part deals with the technical understanding, and the remaining part deals with the perceptive understanding of “In-novation in Crisis Management” for business. Unfortunately, this survey has found that few students have a sound understanding of this issue. Along with the survey result, this article also attempts to address the poor understanding among the students through robust regression analysis. This study suggests that more contextual teaching with a focus on case studies as well as required field visits might improve the understanding of this issue. The study result presented in this article could be replicable in the context of other countries. Methodologically, this study follows a survey-based descriptive and inferential analysis.

STRATEGY project aims at selecting and implementing existing, evolving and new standards within solutions, tools, procedural guidelines and recommendations. The project will streamline and validate technical and organisational interoperability in a fully transboundary configuration with means of standards through the implementation of use cases involving EU and National Standardisation bodies. The main objective is to enhance the resilience of EU against all types of natural & manmade disasters (multi-hazard approach), through validating the standards of next-generation solutions and procedures ensuring an effective and efficient collaborative response. This article presents the validation activities carried out for two pre-standardisation items entitled ‘Specifications for Digital Scenarios for Crisis Managements’ and ‘Requirements for acquiring digital information from victims during Search and Rescue operations’. The results of the developments and the implementation and evaluation through a Full-Scale Exercise are presented which aimed at collecting feedback from key crisis management stakeholders which included first responders, academia and researchers, industry and public authorities.

The number of climate-related disasters has progressively increased in the last two decades and this trend will drastically exacerbate in the medium- and long-term horizons according to climate change projections. In this framework, through a multi-disciplinary team and a strong background acquired in recent projects, ICARIA aims to promote the use of asset-level modeling to achieve a better understanding of climate related tangible direct and indirect impacts on critical assets due to complex, cascading, and compound disasters. Furthermore, it takes into account the related risk reduction provided by suitable, sustainable, and cost-effective adaptation solutions. ICARIA focuses on both (i) critical assets and services that were not designed for potential climate change-related impacts that can increase the unplanned outages and failures, and (ii) on housing, natural areas, and population. Cutting edge methods regarding climate scenario building, asset-level-coupled models, and multi-risk assessment approaches will be implemented and replicated in three EU regions to understand how future climate scenarios might affect critical assets and to provide decision-making support tools to private and public risk owners to assess the costs and benefits of various adaptation solutions.
