Innovation In Manufacturing Education And Workforce Development The Prime Coalition

Abstract

College (WCCC) along with dozens of manufacturing partners in southwestern Pennsylvania. The coalition was established through an MEP grant from the Education Foundation of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. PRIME was launched to achieve the following objectives: • Build regional support for the engineering industry and increase awareness of the employment opportunities in this region's manufacturing sector. • Develop innovative manufacturing programs that emphasize real world experiences and provide students hands-on learning with industrial-grade equipment. • Develop a feeder system for individuals who will access the seven new degree programs that will be offered by PRIME's educational partners.
