Input-output based fault estimation for linear systems with partially dynamic uncertainty and actuator faults

Abstract: Summary This paper is concentrated on the problem of fault estimation for a class of linear systems with partially dynamic uncertainty and actuator faults. A novel input–output‐based fault estimation approach is proposed, by which the estimates can asymptotically converge to the magnitudes of the actuator faults, and the asymptotic convergence of the estimation is theoretically proved. Some important properties related to the corresponding fault errors are obtained. The proposed input–output‐based fault estima… Show more

“…Studies are relatively less on HFV sensor faults than those on actuators. The methods previously used to handle HFV actuators are presented . Many studies on model‐based sensor faults have also been conducted .…”

“…In the work of Jia et al, the fault estimation problem for T‐S fuzzy descriptor systems has been coped with by a learning observer design approach. Regrettably, the explicit bound of fault estimation error cannot be obtained by using these methods proposed in other works . In addition, the assumption that the fault and/or its derivative should be bounded needs to be satisfied.…”

“…Regrettably, the explicit bound of fault estimation error cannot be obtained by using these methods proposed in other works. [14][15][16] In addition, the assumption that the fault and/or its derivative should be bounded needs to be satisfied. If the fault and/or its derivative is unbounded, the performance of these methods might not be as good.…”
