Insect Control in Celery, 1981

Abstract: Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications (= blocks). Each plot was 3 rows by 25 ft long. Treatments were applied on Jun 30; Jul 8, 16, 22, 29; Aug 5, 12 and 25 with a tractor-mounted boom sprayer with drop nozzles at 30 gpa. Sweep samples were taken weekly from each plot, all insects from the sweep samples, beneficial or pests, were recorded. Plots were checked for early damage due to carrot weevil on Jun 23.
