“…Chlorantraniliprole is an anthranilic diamide insecticide, which displays exceptional insecticidal activity on a broad range of insects pests belonging to Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera and Hemiptera in various agricultural, residential, commercial, and public landscaped areas (Sattelle etal., 2008;Lahm et al, 2009;Dinter, 2009).Anthranilic diamides selectively bind to ryanodine receptors in insect muscles resulting in an uncontrolled release of calcium from internal stores in the sarcoplasmic reticulum, causing impaired regulation of muscle contraction leading to feeding cessation, lethargy, paralysis, and death of target organisms (Lahm et al, 2005;Cordova et al, 2006).Chlorantraniliprole shows very low acute toxicity to birds when given orally or applied to the diet. Anas platyrhynchos (Mallard) and Colinus virginianus (Northern bobwhite) show no toxic effects orally and Anas platyrhynchos show viable embryo reduction while egg shell thinning was reported in Colinus virginianus (U.S. EPA, 2008;Kraggerud et al, 2010).…”
