The toxicity of pure cis-and trans-permethrin or mixtures of the two isomers topically applied to first, third, and fifth instar nymphs of Triatoma infestans (Klug) at 26°C was determined. The cis-isomer was more active than the transisomer in the three stages evaluated. When the two isomers were simultaneously applied to first instar nymphs, an additive effect was observed. Similar treatments of third and fifth instar nymphs resulted in an antagonistic effect. In third instar nymphs, the cis-isomer was more active than trans-isomer at all the three temperatures assayed (16°, 26°, and 36°C). The toxicity of the cis-isomer was lower at 36°C than at either 16° or 26°C. Temperature had no significant effect on the toxicity of the trans-isomer within the temperature range assayed. The toxicity of either isomer to third instar nymphs was not affected by pretreatment of nymphs with PBO (an inhibitor of mixed-function oxidases activity) or TPP (an inhibitor of esterase activity), suggesting that these detoxification pathways are not relevant in the metabolism of cis-or trans-isomers. Effects of piperonyl butoxide and carbaryl synergism were studied on the metabolism of the snail Lymnaea ctcuminata. Snails were exposed to 40 yo and 80 yo of the 48 h LCs0 of carbaryl or carbaryl tpipeionyl butoxide mixture (1 : 5 ) . The amount of carbaryl present in the LCSo mixture was only 0.23 yo of the LCao of carbaryl alone. The treatments caused a dose-dependent decrease in glycogen and protein levels and acctylcholinesterase ( AChE) and alkaline phosphtLtase activity; simultaneously, there was an incrctise in levels of lactic acid, reducing sugars and amino acid and the activity of acid phosphat.ase. Significant differences in AChE and phosphatnse activity were also observed between the effects of equivalent concentrations of carbaryl and carbaryl-synergist.

Many insecticides were displayed failure of its effectiveness towards whitefly; in the reason of insecticide resistance and to facilitate and solve these problems, the mixing of the depressed insecticide with another insecticide which didn't lost the efficiency were considered helpful. A binary mixtures of commonly used insecticides for controlling whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) with five organophosphorous insecticides were bioassayed using leaf dip method to accomplish the most dependable mixture. As well as the potency evaluation on the whitefly field collection with all mixtures tested was gets a good shift in LC50s. Pirimiphos-methyl mixed with all other tested insecticides in ratio of 1:1exhibits the minimum potentiation ratio (PR) obtained in the study gave followed it the chlorpyrifosmethyl mixed in ratio of 1:10 and chlorpyrifos-ethyl in ratio of 1:4 ppm. The higher synergistic effect was obtained with four cases: cypermethrin, spinosad /fenitrothion 1:4 mixture and cypermethrin, deltamethrin / profenofos 1:10 mixture. Some insecticides combinations exhibit Potentiation Ratio was significantly below 1 (antagonistic effect) and in contrast some insecticides combinations exhibit PR were not significantly different from 1(additive effect).
