Abstract: River restoration projects often involve vegetation planting to retain sediment and stabilize riverbanks. Laboratory experiments have explored the impact of rigid emergent vegetation canopies on bed morphology. Inside canopies, bed erosion is attributed to vegetation‐induced turbulent kinetic energy (TKE).
