Insights into the interaction of potent antimicrobial chalcone triazole analogs with human serum albumin: spectroscopy and molecular docking approaches

Abstract: Mechanistic insights into the interaction of five previously chemically synthesized triazole-linked chalcone analogs with human serum albumin were analyzed using UV-visible absorption, fluorescence quenching, circular dichroism and molecular docking studies.

“…Double distilled water was used throughout the experiment. Binding experiments of serum albumins (BSA and HSA) were carried out with constant concentration of 15 μM, which was determined spectrophotometrically . Varied concentration of coumarin compounds was gradually added to obtain a different ratio of coumarin compounds individually.…”

“…Our research group has been working on a diversified area including design and synthesis of newer antimalarial compounds, single crystal structure analysis, and interaction study of small molecules with serum albumins . To further rationalize the interaction of newly developed antimalarial drug candidate, we selected four most active compounds, viz., CUM 1‐4 (Figure ) with antimalarial activities, IC 50 values; 0.763, 0.893, 1.496, and 1.817 μg/mL against Plasmodium falciparum .…”

“…great attention due to their extensive biological properties such as antioxidant, [5] antifungal, [6,7] antitubercular, [8] antibacterial, [9] anticancer, [10] anti-HIV, [11] antimicrobial, [12] and antimalarial activity. [13] The 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles were synthesized via coppercatalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction, well known as a click chemistry reaction.…”
