Instability of total shoulder arthroplasty secondary to irreparable subscapularis tendon rupture: treatment with allograft bone block-Achilles tendon tenodesis
Abstract:Glenohumeral instability following total shoulder arthroplasty is a difficult problem. Rupture of the subscapularis tendon is a recognized cause of instability. The treatment options for irreparable subscapularis rupture are limited. We report a case of glenohumeral instability secondary to irreparable subscapularis rupture following total shoulder arthroplasty. This was successfully managed with allograft bone block-Achilles tendon tenodesis.
