Installation of purge units for supplying inert gases to the metal melt on converters

Abstract: It has been established that with combined metal purge in an oxygen converter, the durability of the purge lances when inert gases are supplied through the bottom of the converter is less than the durability of the converter lining. The reasons are the advanced wear of the lances in relation to the bottom lining, and the metalization of the capillaries / channels on the tuyeres with a slag-metal emulsion.
