Instructions in regard to preparation of manuscript.

Abstract: The committee realizes that it neither has, nor wishes to assume, any authority in dictating to authors, to publishers or to editors; but it suggests the following recommendations for use as a standard of procedure, to which exceptions would doubtless be necessary, but to which reference might be made in cases of doubt, and which might be cited to authors for their general guidance in the preparation of scientific articles.

“…This question is highly relevant because the common method of curving the guide out of the LoS may impact the focusing properties of an elliptic guide. This problem is something that we are investigating further in reference to these results in a current study [26]. Meanwhile, several other studies have already addressed this problem using various techniques, such as a massive beamstop in the centre of the guide that eliminates any neutrons flying directly through the guide [27], gravitational curving where the guide follows a parabolic curve calculated from a typical wavelength [28], and the traditional method of bending of a straight guide [29].…”

“…These guidelines are set down in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2006). The Publication Manual originated in 1929 as a short journal article that provided basic standards for preparing manuscripts to be submitted for publication (Bentley et al, 1929). It was later expanded and published as a book by the association and is now in its sixth edition.…”

“…Eventually, as these instructions got more detailed, style manuals were made available for purchase. For example, the first APA (American Psychological Association) style guide contained sixand-a-half pages and was published in a journal in 1929nearly 90 years ago (Bentley et al, 1929). This version was then revised in 1944and 1952(see APA, 2001.…”
