Over the last decade, Poland has witnessed a statutory change in the definition of rainwater. It stopped being regarded as wastewater. Municipalities in Poland have developed different models for rainwater management and various ways of financing them. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the most important elements of rainwater management models in Poland with the use of operators. It focused not only on constitutive features of the system but also on financial aspects, such as fees and investments (with the omission of fiscal ones). The study helped to identify three organisationally distinguishable operator models and indicated strengths and weaknesses of each of them. Such a systematic and structured analysis lays the groundwork for the assessment of these models and enables other municipalities to make a conscious decision on which model to implement.

This review paper describes seaside renewable energy resources. The motivation and need behind this work are to give background literature on the use of climate change effects as a resource support for shallow geothermal-energy (seaside energy solutions) production. This leads to combating and mitigating climate change by using its effect to our advantage. As a part of my literature review as a report series, this report gives some background about seaside energy solutions relating to water quality and climate change. This review paper addresses all aspects of renewable energy. The methodology implemented in this review paper and other series was a systematic literature review process. After searching and collecting articles from three databases, they were evaluated by title, abstract and whole article then synthesized into the literature review. The key conclusion is that seaside renewable energy is mainly shallow geothermal-energy and most of the methods use climate change effects to their advantage such as sediment heat energy production. The main recommendation is to use the effects of climate change to combat and mitigate its causes and further consequences. The overall conclusions are built on the relationships between different aspects of the topics. The paper contributes a precise current review of renewable energy. It is the last part of a series of four review papers on climate change, land uplift, water resources, and these seaside energy solutions.

This research assesses the hydrogeochemical characteristics of irrigation groundwater to understand its quality within climate change prone areas of Cambodia. Thirteen groundwater samples were collected in Takeo province to analyze for major physicochemical properties. Both pH and TDS were below the maximum permissible limit of drinking water set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Cambodia’s standard of drinking water quality. The study finds concentrations of cations and anions in order of Na+ > Ca2+ > Mg2+ > K+ and HCO3 > Cl- > NO3- > SO42- > PO43-, wherein four major hydro-chemical facies (Ca-Mg-Cl, Ca-HCO3, Na-Cl and Na-HCO3 types) were identified. Application of the Gibbs diagram showed evaporation and water-rock interaction as the main factors affecting hydrogeochemical properties in the study area. Furthermore, the majority of groundwater samples were classified to be ‘excellent’ and ‘good’ for irrigation purposes, according to the value of residual sodium carbonate (RSC), sodium adsorption ratio, and electrical conductivity. Thus, it can be assumed that the quality of groundwater may be considered suitable for irrigation purpose and agriculture.
