Integrated Optimization Model for Production Planning and Scheduling with Logistics Constraints

Abstract: Production planning and the development of manufacturing production scheduling are two important operational management tasks. The results of these tasks will strongly influence the development of corporate profits, as well as the efficiency of utilization of resources. Considering the production scheduling problems in production plans can effectively avoid conflicts between the specific implementation production plan and the actual situations, and ultimately maximize resource utilization efficiency. “…During simulating the production process is evaluated the achieved output, respectively the operation of the production system during certain period, on the basis of statistical data [10,11]. The performance characteristics of the production systems can be summarized as follows [12][13][14][15][16][17]:  utilization of resources,  stock size in terms of the number of pending parts,  machine failure statistics,  machine blocking time,  return on investment,  cost indicators of production,  the amount of scraps,  the number of parts that were faulty, respectively require repair,  trouble-free operation,  time during which work is stopped due to device inactivity,  waiting time of the product before workplace,  monitoring of production performance, which indicates, how many products are produced during the simulation,  continuous production time for a particular product,  the amount of inventories and work in process of production.…”

“…), and an economic component (information on amounts and prices of buying and selling, costs of auxiliary raw materials, materials and energy, profit margin). The adequacy of the description of production processes using such models and recommendations for their improvement is still discussed extensively in the literature (Guerra & LeRoux, 2011;Alattas et al, 2013;Chen, 2016). However, excessive attempts to increase the fidelity of the model by trying to account for the maximum number of its parameters and dependencies result in an increase of its dimensionality.…”
