Integrated use of GIS, AHP and remote sensing in land use planning for tropical high altitude vegetable crops

Abstract: In Indonesia, Java Island still contributes a large amount of the total number of vegetables produced. In this tropical country, vegetables are produced in two different agro-ecological conditions, which are high altitude and low altitude. The rapidly increasing population growth has caused the centre's production of high altitude vegetables on Java Island to be increasingly pressured by other types of land utilization. This study was conducted in one of the production centres of tropical high altitude vegetab… Show more

“…Fuzzy sets are applied with many objectivities in the environmental sciences, providing more explanatory results to help the decision-makers when they map priority areas (Valente et al, 2021), site suitability (Widiatmaka 2016;Chen et al 2018), environmental fragility (Anjinho et al 2021), and modeling ecological capability (Ghomi-Avili et al 2020). However, in works that consider the fuzzy logic, even after applying the necessary pertinence functions on the landscape attribute maps to some of them, mainly those derived from thematic mappings, the resulting fuzzi ed map still carries traces of the rigid Boolean spatialization that originated them.…”
