The research relevance is predefined by the air travel number growth. Accordingly, the relevance of this issue is increasing, especially concerning air travel safety. Also, due to the increasing demand for international flights, it becomes essential to harmonize the standards and methodology of training aviation personnel. The research aims to consider the parameters of flight safety and the impact of the unification of training programs for aviation personnel. The conclusion that unification can significantly affect safety was made with the help of scientific and special methods, including analysis, synthesis, concretization, and generalization. An analysis of existing unification methods was conducted. The multi-crew pilot training program proved to be one of the most advanced compared to standard flight crew training programs. The method was determined to be a specialized training program tailored to the needs of the aviation industry and focused on training pilots for multi-crew and jet operations. The program is more challenging, intensive and dynamic, and includes a significant amount of simulator training. Traditional flight training programs, such as Private Pilot Licenses (PPL), Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPL), instrument qualification, and multi-engine rating, have a broader scope and provide pilots with more career opportunities. Simulator training has been identified as a critical component of many flight training programs and plays a vital role in flight safety. The study may be of interest to a range of readers concerned with the issue of standardizing aviation training and improving safety in aviation, including researchers, faculty, and students of higher education institutions in the aviation field.

Purpose The literature has defined different indicators of training effectiveness. At the performance indicator level of analysis, training effectiveness measures the impact of training on knowledge, skills and job performance. This paper aims to analyse, from the perspective of managers and employees from the hotel sector in Colombia, the relationships between the improvement of knowledge and skills and the improvement of job performance. Design/methodology/approach The research technique used is a survey. Data are collected from a sample of managers and a sample of employees from the Colombian hospitality industry. The hypotheses are contrasted through regression analysis. Findings From the managers’ perspective, the data indicate a significant relationship between the improvement of knowledge and work performance. In contrast, there is no significant relationship between improving skills and improving job performance. From the employees’ perspective, significant relationships between the improvement of knowledge and the improvement of skills in job performance are revealed. Originality/value This work makes significant contributions to the training literature. It analyses the relationships among indicators of training effectiveness from the point of view of managers and employees from the Colombian hotel sector. It reveals differences between the perspectives of managers and employees.

Penerbangan didunia telah menyumbang 2.5% dari total emisi karbon yang ada. Industri penerbangan tidak hanya didomininasi oleh penerbangan komersial dengan pesawat besar (wide body) akan tetapi banyak juga pesawat kecil bermesin piston yang menggunakan bahan bakar 100 low lead Aviation Gasoline (Avgas). Total hampir 230 ribu pesawat piston engine yang beroperasi di dunia yang diantarannya dioperasikan oleh sekolah penerbang (flying School). Terdapat lebih dari 20 sekolah penerbang di Indonesia yang mengoperasikan hampir 250 pesawat piston engine. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar gas emisi karbon yang dihasilkan oleh sekolah penerbang yang ada di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder berupa data produksi jam pesawat. Data literatur/pustaka juga digunakan untuk melakukan proses perhitungan jumlah karbon yang dilepaskan ke udara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Akademi Penerbang Indonesia Banyuwangi pada bulan September 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Akademi Penerbang Indonesia Banyuwangi memproduksi lebih dari 450 Ton karbon setiap tahunnya dan seluruh sekolah penerbang di Indonesia diperkirakan menyumbang 8000 ton CO2 ke udara bebas. Terdapat beberapa solusi yang dapat dgunakan untuk mengurangi peningkatan karbon di udara bebas antara lain pajak karbon, penggunaan bahan bakar berkelanjutan dan yang paling utama adalah penanaman pohon
