Integrative Bioinformatics Study of Tangeretin Potential Targets for Preventing Metastatic Breast Cancer

Abstract: Agents that target metastasis are important to improve treatment efficacy in patients with breast cancer. Tangeretin, a citrus flavonoid, exhibits antimetastatic effects on breast cancer cells, but its molecular mechanism remains unclear. Tangeretin targets were retrieved from PubChem, whereas metastatic breast cancer regulatory genes were downloaded from PubMed. In total, 58 genes were identified as potential therapeutic target genes of tangeretin (PTs). GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses of PTs were per… Show more

“…CRP has been found to regulate the PARP-2/SIRT1/AMPK signaling pathway, leading to growth inhibition and apoptosis induction in C666-1 cells (C666-1 is the exclusive one that still retains the natural EBV) [30]. Specifically, CRP inhibits the expression of PARP-2, and the partial alleviation of its impact on C666-1 cells by PARP-2 overexpression suggests the potential role of PARP-2 in the growth inhibition and apoptosis induced by CRP [35]. Furthermore, CRP treatment activates the SIRT1 and AMPK signaling pathways, involving AMPK phosphorylation and the inhibition of the mTOR signaling pathway [69].…”

“…As a derivative of oleanolic acid, 3-acetyl-oleanolic acid shows good potential against NAFLD, including the amelioration of lipid accumulation, anti-steatotic effects, and the inhibition of apoptosis. The therapeutic effect of 3-acetyl-oleanolic may lie in two aspects: altering the secretion of multiple adipokines and activating AMPK-related pathways [110]. Ha-20 is a newly discovered oleanolic acid derivative, which effectively suppresses fat accumulation in the liver.…”
