Intense green‐, red‐emitting Tb3+, Tb3+/Bi3+‐doped and Sm3+, Sm3+/La3+‐doped Ca2Al2SiO7 phosphors

Abstract: This paper focuses on an optical study of a Tb 3+ /Bi 3+ -doped and Sm 3+ /La 3+ -doped Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 phosphor synthesized using combustion methods. Here, Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 :Sm 3 + showed a red emission band under visible light excitation but, when it co-doped with La 3+ ions, the emission intensity was further enhanced. Ca 2 Al 2 SiO 7 :Tb 3+ shows the characteristic green emission band under near-ultraviolet light excitation wavelengths, co-doping with Bi 3+ ions produced enhanced photoluminescence intensity… Show more

“…The spectral profiles of synthesized complexes showed dynamic changes in comparison with the free ligand and ancillary ligand, due to the paramagnetic behaviour of Eu(III) ions. [ 16 ] 1 H NMR spectra of the ligand exhibited a single peak at 11.08 ppm due to acidic protons, a singlet at 7.71 ppm and a doublet at 7.80 ppm due to methylene protons of the phenyl ring and two doublets at 7.34 ppm and 7.47 ppm due to two methylene protons of the furan ring. [ 17 ] The complexation of metal ions with the ligand was confirmed as the specific peak of acidic proton was absent in complexes C1–C4.…”
