Abstract:The kinetics of hepatic microsomal ethanol oxidation (MEOS) was studied in microsomal suspension from rat liver. The estimated maximum elimination rate was 117 nmol acetaldehyde/ min/g liver and the half-saturation concentration 12.7 mmol ethanol/l. The MEOS activity was not influenced by the presence of antipyrine 0.1 mmol/l and 1.0 mmol/l in the microsomal incubations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
