Abstract:In this work, a general approximate solution for the configurational force between edge dislocation and inhomogeneity of an arbitrary shape and properties with coupled thermomechanical loads was developed on the basis of the Eshelby equivalent inclusion theory. The effect of temperature-dependent elastic properties, thermal expansion coefficient and yield strength on the configurational forces was analyzed. Furthermore, the configurational force considered to be the driving force for dislocation migration was … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
