Abstract:The insect pest Prodiplosis longifila Gagné (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), causes severe losses to the tomato crop in Ecuador, in the provinces of Manabí, Pichincha, Carchi, Cotopaxi, Azuay, and Chimborazo, where the main producing areas of this solanaceous crop in the country are located.
