The application of analysis data software packages, such as SPSS, appears challenging for those who lack experience in quantitative researches particularly amongst novice users. Prior studies have proven that SPSS novice users face some difficulties in analyzing data correctly for their research purposes. The existing modules that serve as references are insufficiently interesting to promote SPSS learning and does not support on students' cognitive ability. Hence, a module using four-step approach based on learning via case study example and infographic called 'ReSt' module was developed as an effort to assist novice users in learning quantitative data analysis methods using the SPSS. With that, the research design employed in this study was the survey method in order to determine the ReSt module usability level perception. A total of 78 novice users who comprised of undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in this research throughout a two-day SPSS basic course in order to evaluate their perception regarding the usability level of the module. A usability questionnaire categorized four primary domains, which are usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction was applied to evaluate the ReSt module usability level perception. The outcomes revealed that the usability level of the proposed module had been high among the novice users, for the contexts of usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction. Therefore, the use of the ReSt module for SPSS novice users is indeed relevant and appropriate, thus fulfill the usability amongst novice users to function as a reference in data analysis learning using the SPSS, especially amongst core quantitative researchers.

Developing an Instructional Design for the Design of Infographics and the Evaluation of Infographic Usage in Teaching Based on Teacher and Student Opinions

Infographics have been frequently used in recent years with the purpose of the visual presentation of information. It is a visualisation method which aims at presenting any content with a visual composition, combining such elements as shapes, symbols, graphics, photographs, illustrations, and texts for the target audience. The purpose of this research is to develop an instructional design based on the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model of infographic design as well as the determination of student and teacher opinions on the usage of infographics in teaching. The study group of the research consists of 43 teachers and 51 elementary school students from elementary schools in Cyprus who participated in the research process voluntarily. The implementation process of the study consisted of 52 hours of education in face-to-face and online learning environments with the participation of 43 elementary school teachers. The purpose of this education activity was to develop knowledge and skills in the theoretical and applied dimensions required for the design of infographics. The data collection tools used in the research were the "self-efficacy scale for the design and usage of infographics", the "opinion survey for the usage of infographics in teaching environments", a "semi-structured interview form for the design of infographics for teachers and their usage in teaching environments" and a "semi-structured interview form for elementary school students for the usage of infographics in education". According to the results of the study, the opinions of elementary school teachers on the usage of infographics and their self-efficacy for infographic design shows a significant and positive difference before and after training. Interviews were held on the usage of infographics in learning environments with the 43 elementary school teachers and 51 elementary school students after the completion of the training process. Teachers used the infographics that they had developed according to the course contents for eight weeks in their courses after the training was completed and observed the impact of infographics in terms of different dimensions. At the end of the implementation, it was found that both teachers and students had positive opinions on the usage of infographics in learning environments.

Geography is a very comprehensive field of study with many subjects to study topics. Using a wide range of materials in the teaching of this course can this lesson be made effective and permanent because we do not have chances to observe natural phenomena. Therefore, in geography education materials natural environment is to be brought to class by using materials. One of these materials is infographics. Within the scope of this study, the effects of use of infographics on students' achievement and attitude in geography course. The study is important as it can contribute to design of new instructional materials to be used in classes. The study was designed as quasi-experimental study, which is one of the quantitative study methods. In the study, "Solomon Four Group Design" has been used. As a result, it can be said that using infographics in geography lessons increase academic achievement and attitude levels of the students. It can also contribute to visual and verbal learning levels. Besides, these results can also provide guidance to teachers as they provide alternative and different instructional materials in geography lessons. Infographics can be effectively and widely used in geography lessons in different grade levels and learning areas when visual and information are to be given together. It is also suggested to use infographics in cases where achievement and attitudes of students in geography lesson is low.
