Interactive Learning Media for Cellular Communication Systems using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle Model

Abstract: Based on the observations conducted to the students of Diploma of Telecommunications Engineering Telkom University. It revealed that the students have difficulty learning and understanding the chapters of call processing and network optimization in the course of cellular communication systems. It has resulted from the current learning media, which are only in the form of textbooks and Powerpoint slides considered less attractive. Hence, the learning process becomes ineffective and has an impact on low learning… Show more

“…The concept stage is the stage where you create a concept from the set of building an application, starting from determining who the application users are (audience identification), the purpose of the application, the media, and choosing the specifications [9]. The purpose and end use of the program influence the multimedia theme as a reflection of the organization's identity that wants information to reach the user [10]. At the concept stage, this research aims to serve as a medium for learning innovative herbal plants to make it easier for the public to find information about herbal plants using an augmented reality application with the Android system.…”

“…The concept is the activity to determine the purpose and who are the users of the program [41], Design is the stage of making specifications regarding the program architecture, style, appearance, and material/material requirements for the program [42], Material collecting is the activity of collecting materials following the needs being worked on [43], Assembly is the activity of making all multimedia objects or materials. Application development is based on the design stage, such as storyboards, flowcharts, and/or navigation structures [44], Testing is carried out after completing the assembly activity by running the application program and seeing whether there are errors or not [45], and distribution where the application will be stored in a storage medium. This activity can also be called the evaluation part to develop a finished product to make it better.…”
