Interamerican Society of Psychology (1951–2021): Its history and historians.

Abstract

On December 17, 2021, The Interamerican Society of Psychology (ISP) celebrated its 70th anniversary. This article briefly describes ISP’s history, discussing its organizational structure, and the contributions of the working group history of psychology, to honor this important event. The history of psychology division within ISP remains committed to facilitating encounters of Ibero American psychologists who wish to further examine the history of psychology. Lastly, we analyzed the growth and the contemporary challenges in the field of history of psychology in Latin America.

Ten years of the Peruvian Society of the History of Psychology.

“…Thus, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Peruvian Society of the History of Psychology (SPHP), this document reviews the contextual factors of Latin-American and Peruvian psychology, which contributed to the foundation of the SPHP to certain extent. Then, the historiographic production that has been promoted and carried out within the SPHP and its members will be analyzed with the purpose to inform the global academic community interested in the history of psychology and the advancements made in Psychology (WG-HP) of the Interamerican Society of Psychology (ISP), which was created in 1995, within the framework of the XXV Interamerican Congress of Psychology in Puerto Rico (Gallegos & Pecanha, 2022).
