Abstract:Pathological implications of the falciform ligament are rare and internal hernias are exceptional. The origin of the falciform ligament defect can be congenital or inflammatory (a satellite of acute cholecystitis) or even post-surgical. The internal hernias of the falciform ligament are most often revealed by an acute intestinal obstruction syndrome with an ischemic component.
