Interionic Interactions of Aqueous Mixtures of Ionic Liquid 1-Hexyl-3-methylimidazolium Chloride with Phosphate Salts at T = (288.15 to 308.15) K: Volumetric, Acoustic and UV Absorption Studies

Abstract: The interactions of phosphate salts like disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na 2 HPO 4 ) and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K 2 HPO 4 ) with 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C 6 mim][Cl]) as a function of temperature have been investigated by combination of volumetric and acoustic measurements. Densities, ρ, and speeds of sound, u, for phosphate salts in aqueous solutions of 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride have been measured at T = (288. 15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15) K and atmospheric pressure. “…The interactions of some phosphate and citrate salts with 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride as a function of temperature have been investigated by a combination of volumetric and acoustic measurements by Kumar and coworkers. The absorption values revealed the existence of interactions between citrate/phosphate salt, IL, and water molecules, which supported results obtained from volumetric and acoustic data (Kumar and Chadha, 2014 , 2015 ).…”

“…When the temperature and concentration increased linearly, the positive magnitude raised gradually. For the binary system of [Omim][SCN]+DMF, the negative magnitude values increases with increases of concentration of solute and temperature, the negative values of apparent molar isentropic compressibility indicating that the solvent molecules surrounded by solute molecules are less compressibility solvent molecule in bulk, that indicates weak interactions between solute and solvent molecules [11,13] . The variation of κ s,φ against concentration and temperature of all studied ILs are represented as Figure 6 and Figures S13–S14.…”

The 3D representation of all figures divided into various regions, among them, violet colour region significance of low magnitude, whereas brown colour corresponds to high magnitude.…”
