This study aims to expose detailed descriptions of the grammatical features of Indonesian English. Indonesian English refers to a newly recognised linguistic variety of English as proposed by Coleman (2017). The grammatical characteristics as the result of acquiring a new language lead to the presence of a new variety of Indonesian English. Applying descriptive qualitative research, the data were collected based on recordings of the speech of 24 college students on three different topics. Following the principle proposed by Cogo and Dewey (2012), this study reveals twelve grammatical features as the characteristics of Indonesian English. They are namely the over-generalisation and omission of the copula BE (i.e am, is, are), the use of Indonesian collocation and literal translation, subject–verb agreement, the omission of the plural marker 's', assigning different lexical meanings, inappropriate prepositions, the omission of possessive markers, the omission and addition of articles, the application of verb tenses, the use of Indonesian acronyms and abbreviations, the incorrect construction of passive forms, and the use of Indonesian lexical items. It is shown that one of the main factors in the emergence of this new English variant is the contact of the multiple languages used by the speakers.

<em>The issue of Differentiated Instruction (DI) has recently attracted the attention of scholars and practitioners because of its immense significance and many opportunities to enhance student learning. In this regard, the current study aims to contribute a small summary of DI in the context of EFL to provide context and illustrate the need to implement DI in the classroom to ensure that students learn languages successfully. Since differentiated instruction puts students at the center of teaching and learning, encourages equality and academic achievement, and acknowledges student diversity, it encourages teachers to be aware of individual needs, interests, skills, English proficiency levels, and students’ preferred learning strategies. Although some challenges may occur such as time-consuming and pressure on teachers in implementing DI, this approach has advantages that can affect students' learning processes, future learning attitudes, and future success. So, the learning process provides many opportunities when the teacher is committed to differentiated instruction.</em>

The exponential development of technology has provided tools that can support the teaching and learning process. The present study aimed to analyze college students' perceptions of using the graphic design tool Canva to support their English Writing Class. The study was designed as qualitative research. The subject of this study involving sixteen students in a private college. The data were collected using a questionnaire. After collecting the data, it was analyzed qualitatively. The results were then compared with theoretical and empirical materials to assist the researcher in analyzing the obtained data for discussion. The study revealed that 86.4% of the students had positive perceptions concerning the usefulness, ease of access, and suitability of Canva for supporting English writing skills, with 47.0% of the students strongly agreed, 39.4% agreed, and only 13.5% of them partially agreed. The study also revealed that students encountered challenges during the implementation of Canva in English Writing class, primarily related to their readiness to use the features provided by Canva for supporting their writing process. These findings imply that mastery of the tool's features is crucial for gaining optimum benefits in using Canva to improve students' writing skills.
