Internal Mobilities in the Binary Molten System (Na, TI)NO3

Abstract: Internal mobility ratios of the cations in the molten binary system (Na, T1)N0 3 have been measured with the Klemm method. From these values and available data on the densities and electric conductivities, the internal mobilities, b, of Na + and Tl + ions have been calculated. The Chemla effect occurs at high x T1 (x T1 : mole fraction of T1N0 3 ). At low xj], b T \ sharply decreases with decreasing x-n, which may be attributed to the free space effect.
