Internal Reflection in Uniaxial Crystals II: Coefficients of Transmission and Reflection for an Ordinary Incident Wave

This work presents a simple method to enhance polarization conversion reflection from an anisotropic thin film. The total reflection effect at the interface of an anisotropic thin film causes strong e-ray and o-ray couplings, leading to enhanced polarization conversion. Arranging high-refraction thin film or low-refraction thin film in the prism/anisotropic thin film/air system yields narrowband or broadband polarization conversion reflection.
