Internal structure of cuscuton Bloch brane

Abstract: This work deals with thick branes in bulk with a single extra dimension modeled by a two-field configuration. We first consider the inclusion of the cuscuton to also control the dynamics of one of the fields and investigate how it contributes to change the internal structure of the configuration in two distinct situations, with the standard and the asymmetric Bloch brane. The results show that the branes get a rich internal structure, with the geometry presenting a novel behavior which is also governed by the … Show more

“…This model has been studied previously in the context of 5D thick brane model [59,60,61], where analytical thick brane solutions were obtained. Hopefully, similar stable self-gravitating kink solutions might be obtained in the present 2D model.…”

“…As seen in Ref. [77], the existence of such structures in low-dimensional models coupled by gauge fields lead to the existence of structures with superconducting properties. In the study of cosmic strings the internal structures are related to the presence of superconducting strings (see for example [78][79][80]).…”

“…Models with modification in the interaction and dynamics of scalar fields have also presented new characteristics such as split behavior [21] and compactification of the brane [25]. Recently, brane models with modified dynamics with the cuscuton term were investigated in the context of standard gravitation leading to new split behavior in warp factor [26,27]. In Ref.…”
