Abstract: This paper analyzes ethical issues arising from malaria research. These issues stem from the use of human landing catches, the medical treatment provided to human landing catch participants, participants misunderstanding their role in research, the conflicts of interest between the Gates Foundation and its evaluation policy, and the genetically modified mosquito release.
