“…Due to the lack of public awareness of the importance of osteoporosis prevention and the lack of prevention and treatment capacity for osteoporosis in primary healthcare institutions, the bone mineral density detection rate of Chinese residents is relatively low, and most residents do not take timely prevention and control measures at the initial stage of bone mass decline [ 25 ]. Another explanation may be that the 20-39 age group has more convenient access to the Internet, and as a group of children, parental discomfort occurs, resulting in a greater demand for osteoporosis-related information [ 28 , 29 ]. In addition, a higher target group index (TGI) indicates that female Internet users are more interested in osteoporosis-relevant information, which is consistent with the prevalence trend of osteoporosis and is equivalent to a higher volume of searches.…”

“…As a result, findings regarding privacy concerns in non-social media contexts might be challenging to extrapolate to social media environments (Proudfoot et al ., 2018; Bartol et al ., 2023). Furthermore, the multidimensional nature of privacy concerns allows researchers to capture nuanced differences in privacy attitudes (Shi et al ., 2023; Zarouali et al ., 2022). Thus, in this study, we employ the construct of social media privacy concerns and the operationalization by Koohang (2017) and Koohang et al .…”

“…The increased academic focus on the older population is justified by the fact that older adults are becoming increasingly comfortable with technology and are recognizing the benefits of using web services (Chakraborty et al, 2013;Shi et al, 2023). However, it is important to note that the older population is also considered a highly vulnerable group when engaging in online activities compared to other age groups (Millward, 2003;Seo et al, 2021).…”
